ligonier historic point of interest
Conrad George Home circa 1830
Our building dates back to 1830 and is part of the Ligoner Chamber of Commerce's Historic Points of Interest project.
Conrad George was a cabinet maker, whose father was one of the original settlers in the Ligonier Valley. This property is deeded from the 1830s, from John Ramsey and from a sheriff's sale. "Cooney" George was known for his bad temper, and once punched a man in the face at the Post Office for say disrespectful words about Abraham Lincoln after his assassination.
